Overview

Exports layers as structured KML/KMZ from CSV rule files: features are grouped by a chosen attribute into labeled, nested folders and keep their symbology in Google Earth. Replaces individually exporting and organizing layers by hand.

Details

• Develop and maintain a Python QGIS plugin (now at v13.2) that exports layers as structured KML/KMZ from CSV rule files, cutting processing time by about 90% for the whole 40-person department.
• CSV rule files set the folder nesting (level, step, field, folder name, value) and styling (color, gradient, opacity, outline), so features land in labeled folders in Google Earth with their symbology.
• Built with: Python, PyQGIS, Qt Designer, KML/KMZ
